What to Expect from Your First Visit
Your first visit to Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you and is extremely thorough. During the first visit, here is what you can expect from our helpful staff:
- Informative dental office tour
- Personal introductions to the dental professionals who will be treating you
- Full series of digital camera images to assess your oral health as well as your smile
- Comprehensive dental exam
- Any and all necessary radiographs (x-rays) will be taken
- Thorough dental teeth cleaning
- Plenty of time to get to know your hygienist and dentist
- Opportunity to ask as many questions as you would like along the way
We are also happy to schedule you as quickly as possible if you are having a dental emergency. If you are anxious or need a more complex treatment, sedation is available.
Initial Comprehensive Dental Examination
Your initial dental examination will be comprehensive and includes a visual examination, cosmetic analysis, charting, periodontal (gum and bone) exam, TMJ exam, oral cancer screening, along with diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling.
