Invisalign
The Same Results as Traditional Orthodontics With More Subtle Treatment
We Are Certified Invisalign Providers Offering Two Convenient Treatment Options
Traditional Invisalign
Invisalign allows patients to straighten their smiles without the discomfort and obvious appearance of traditional braces. Patients receive between 20 and 30 custom-made trays that gently shift the teeth into their proper position. Every two weeks, you will change out the aligner for the next in the series and watch as your smile transforms.
Invisalign Express
Invisalign Express is an accelerated system, condensing your orthodontic treatment into a three to six-month time frame. Invisalign Express is designed to rapidly straighten teeth using less than half the number of aligners in the traditional system. The best candidates have mild misalignment and only need to correct the rotation of their teeth.

View on GoogleWhy Choose Invisalign Treatment? 3 Advantages of Clear Aligners
Undetectable
The main advantage of Invisalign over orthodontic braces is the discreet, clear material. Made from BPA-free plastic, the aligners are designed to fit securely over your teeth while remaining virtually invisible.
Removable
Your clear aligners are also removable, making it easy to brush, floss, and maintain good oral hygiene. You can continue to eat all the foods you love. Simply remove the trays during meal times!
Comfortable
Aligners are a much safer and more comfortable option for patients who lead particular active lifestyles or play contact sports. With completely smooth surfaces, you avoid the irritation and discomfort of metal brackets.
Invisalign Can Also Improve Your Oral Health
While Invisalign is designed to give you a more attractive smile, treatment may actually benefit your oral health. When teeth are spaced properly and rest at the proper angles, brushing and flossing are easier and more effective.
Orthodontic treatment can also improve the balance of your bite, reducing unnecessary wear on the crowns of your teeth. Better occlusion can also prevent headaches and other painful conditions such as TMJ disorder.
Understanding Invisalign Candidacy And How Invisalign Attachments Can Help
Typically, Invisalign is most successful in treating mild to moderate orthodontic issues. For extremely complex misalignment, our dentists may recommend braces. However, for certain patients, Invisalign attachments can make treatment possible when it otherwise wouldn't be an option.
Invisalign attachments are very small "bumps" of tooth-colored composite resin that are bonded onto the front surfaces of the teeth at the beginning of treatment. They strengthen the hold that the aligner has on the teeth, allowing it to exert greater force and achieve movement.
We'll be sure to check if Invisalign attachments can make a difference for you during your consultation at our Charlotte, NC, practice. Dr. Pinnix or Dr. Betancourt will examine your teeth and take digital impressions of your smile to determine if Invisalign will be an effective orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign Can Be More Affordable Than You May Expect
Believe it or not, Invisalign is no more expensive than orthodontic treatment with braces. While the cost does vary from patient to patient, the price is usually dependent on the extent of misalignment, not the form of orthodontics.
If you have a dental insurance plan that includes orthodontic treatment, it can typically go towards covering Invisalign. However, if you are uninsured, or your plan does not include orthodontics, we are happy to offer financing through CareCredit® and Citi® Health.
Invisalign FAQ
What if I miss a day of treatment?
Invisalign is a gradual process, so missing one day of your treatment plan isn't the end of the world. However, don't make breaks a habit, as it can end up significantly prolonging your timeline. Think of every day you miss as a day you have to make up to achieve the best results possible.
Are you sure I don't need to see an orthodontist?
Yes. Invisalign is an innovative treatment system that can be provided by orthodontists and dentists alike. By choosing our Charlotte practice for Invisalign, you can enjoy continuity of care from a team that offers a comprehensive range of services. There's no need to hop around to multiple offices.
Does Invisalign treatment hurt?
It's normal to experience mild discomfort as your teeth adjust to each new set of clear aligners. However, this discomfort is typically much less than you would expect after a braces tightening appointment, will only last a few days, and can be managed well with over-the-counter medication.
Can I really eat whatever I want during treatment?
Yes! That's one of the best things about Invisalign. The aligners are completely removable and pop right out with ease. You can eat and drink all your favorites throughout treatment. All you have to do is make sure you put your aligners in a safe place during meals, brush thoroughly after eating, and then put your aligners back in right after.
Do I really need to wear a retainer after treatment is complete?
Yes. Even after your teeth are straightened, the bones and soft tissues in your mouth need a little extra time to adjust. If you don't wear a retainer or your last aligner after treatment, your teeth will start to revert back to their original misaligned position. This is why many people who had braces as children end up needing more orthodontic care as adults. You can prevent that common issue by being diligent about wearing your retainer at night.
