Dr. Pinnix: One of my favorite things at dentistry is changing someone's life by changing their smile and being able to transform them and give them the confidence that they need and deserve. That truly is what I love more than anything. Dr. Betancourt: One of the greatest things about what we do is the ability to deliver a final product that people see, that people use, and it's nice to know that when they walk out of the office, I've given them something, something that they take away, that really changes how they live their lives, how they smile, how they eat their favorite foods. And making that difference in somebody's life makes my job very rewarding. Amber: A smile does everything for your confidence. We've had several patients come in, very low self-esteem. I'll never forget a girl that we had. She was a beautiful girl, but she had no confidence. Dr. Pinnix: She had short, darker teeth and they were pretty heavily worn, so they were just small teeth and she always wanted bigger teeth. And then we were able to do some veneers and she was ecstatic. And you love that when it just lit up her face. And she still, to this day, take selfies and then sends them to me and be like "Love my new smile, Dr. Pinnix." And it just makes you feel good. That's like the gift that keeps on giving. Dr. Betancourt: A great part of our success is our staff. So many of them have been with us for many, many years. And everybody helps each other out and we couldn't do what we do without the staff. They are absolutely fantastic. Amber: All of us girls are best friends that work in Advanced Dentistry of Blakeney. We've been at each other's weddings. We've thrown bridal parties for each other. We've been there for children's births. We've been there for birthday parties. Amanda: I do think being friends makes a difference for patients. We all get along very well. We work great as a team, and I think that the patients see that. I think that they see how friendly everyone is and how good they get along. And that translates with the ease of coming into the office. Maria: It's just a family. I see myself being here, being part of the team for a long time. It's just Dr. Betancourt and Dr. Pinnix are the best bosses to work for. They care for their employees. They're amazing. Every person that walks in the office, I just know that they're in good hands. Dr. Betancourt: One of the things that we really encourage is feedback through a variety of means, but it's amazing how many patients are willing to share their thoughts, mostly positive but occasionally a negative one too. And really, we're all the better for it. We love to hear the compliments. We love to hear the criticisms. And we use that as fuel for how we continue to improve. We are not an office that just sits back and thinks that we've got it all figured out. We continue to learn and we continue to get better. Our goals are to always improve and provide a better patient experience and to really give people the best of what we can offer.
